Unique People Services Receives City Council Grant to Supplement Food Pantry
Unique People Services was awarded a City Council Discretionary Funds Grant of $5,000 in July 2011 to augment the food pantry for its residents at no cost. This supports them around developing cooking skills - which are needed for independent living and to eat healthier foods - which will have a positive effect on their health.
Unique People Services was awarded a City Council Discretionary Funds Grant of $5,000 in July 2011 to augment the food pantry for its residents at no cost. This supports them around developing cooking skills - which are needed for independent living and to eat healthier foods - which will have a positive effect on their health.
Our Residents live on a fixed income. As such, they are responsible to pay a portion of their rent and utilities and to pay in full all other bills they may have.
We will provide supplemental food items to our current roster of 50 Individuals residing in our Community Residence and serve an additional 180 Individuals living with HIV/AIDS, who live independently and receive Medical Case Management services from Unique People Services.
The population being served is in the Bronx and there is public transportation available to access the food distribution.
