DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
Funded by New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD)

Unique People Services provides a wide range of residential and clinical services to 47 individuals with developmental disabilities. We operate nine residential programs:  seven are Individual Residential Alternatives (IRAs); one is an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and one is an Individual Support Service apartment (ISS). These residences are located throughout the Bronx and Queens.  Through our extensive network of affiliations, additional off-site services are provided based on each individual’s specific needs, including psychiatric, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and nutrition.

A psychologist, behavioral specialist and registered nurse address any medical or behavioral needs that arise. Our homes provide quality living to our individuals through 24-hour staffing where activities of daily living are taught by qualified staff. Each residence serves varying gender groups which can include all men, all women or a mixture of both genders, accommodating ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals.  All residences provide individuals with opportunities for advancement towards independence, individualization, productivity and integration into their respective communities.
