JGH GARDEN
A HARVEST & SOCIALIZATION RESOURCE FOR THE COMMUNITY

Jose Gonzalez House has operated a small community garden since 2000.  It is maintained by a group of retired Puerto Rican gentleman that are affectionately referred to as the “Gardeners”  The gardeners have cultivated and  harvested an abundance of vegetables and herbs, while our roses bloom beautifully.

The vegetables grown each year are a healthy food supplement for the community and are shared among the gardeners, their families and friends throughout the community.  The garden is also their venue for socialization, where they play dominoes, and share a meal together.  As seen by pictures below, our JGH community garden is a welcoming mini-oasis for the community.
